I got tagged in a note on Facebook and decided to play along. I thought I’d go ahead and share this here because…why not?
1. I have been a piano teacher in 7 states
2. I played piano at a pizza place in Abilene, TX.
3. I was married the first time at age 40.
4. My dad was 44 when I was born and I was 44 when our daughter was born.
5. I have played piano or sang on stage at Nashville’s Ryman and Grand Ole Opry House and NYC’s Madison Square Garden
6. My mother is a seamstress and quilter. I am not. My oldest sister is a sketcher and painter. I am not. My older sister is a story writer and teller. I am not. I would like to do what the mother and oldest do. I will leave the writing and telling to the older.
7. I sold headphones to Larry Bryggman (John Dixon of ATWT).
8. I have visited all the US states, but 11. If I don’t make it to Hawaii in my lifetime, I’ll be okay.
9. As a child, instead of counting sheep, I would run through the names of the US presidents in order.
10. I never ran away from home. I never stuck anything in my nose or ears.
11. I never smoked or skipped classes (pre-college), but did end up in study hall/detention with the smoker and skippers because I didn’t wash my gym clothes.
12. I love steak and the cattle that provide it.
13. My son is named for his uncle and great-grandpa. My daughter is named for her grammy and a princess. I was named for it sounded good to my mom.
14. I am 1/16th Cherokee. Well, that’s what Denise said on hers. My great-grandma was 1/4, so what am I?
15. My favorite place to be is in the woods or in a library. Thank God for trees or we would have neither.
16. I could listen to James Taylor every moment of the day.
17. I have been in front of Buckingham Palace and the Palais de Monaco. I think I got to go in part of the Monaco one. Strange that I can’t remember.
18. I lived in 2 homes in my first 18 years. And probably 10x as many in my second 18 years. Don’t feel like counting.
19. After (and while, for that matter), I am teaching James, I would like to teach others to teach.
20. I love to read aloud to James and Jack and anyone else that’s willing to listen.
21. I love the long days of spring and summer.
22. I was a bridesmaid 2 times. And this is good because I’ve heard it said, “3 times a bridesmaid, never a bride.” I was pretty scared of being asked in the 16 years between the last bridesmaid gig and when I did my own aisle walk.
23. I want to live on a farm.
24. I love bacon and eggs.
25. Singing makes me happy and is good for my lungs.
26. I always wanted a younger sister to tell what to do.
27. I wish my mother had homeschooled me and my siblings. She would have been an excellent teacher to us and we would have learned tons together.
28. My sister Karen assisted in the delivery of my son. My niece Lovie assisted in the delivery of my daughter.
29. The first song we played for our baby James in the hospital was “Sweet Baby James.”
30. My secret wish is to have a window seat in my breakfast room and my bedroom upstairs and to have an apple tree right outside the window and have an English flower garden and paths to take on my morning walk through the woods on my farm. That’s all.
The photos are random too. Sorta. They’re the easiest ones (of me) to access from my computer. The “easiest” part throws off the random factor, right?
